Chief Constable & PCC on Hate Crime, Post Brexit
Two of Leicestershire's two top police chiefs are calling for calm following reports of post-referendum hate crimes.
Just a week after millions of people voted to leave the EU, forces across the country have been dealing with a number allegedly racist incidents. And it seems that Leicester has not escaped the headlines.
Just yesterday, a banner inviting everyone in the community to celebrate Eid was defaced by vandals who spray painted it with a swastika and other racist graffiti. We were joined by the Chief Constable Simon Cole and Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach.
We asked Simon Cole, what the numbers were like for hate crimes in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
