Cathedral service to mark Battle of the Somme
Ely Cathedral has hosted a service to mark 100 years since the start of the Battle of the Somme.
It remembered the soldiers of the 11th Battalion Suffolk Regiment, the Cambridgeshire Volunteer Battalion (Cambridgeshire Pals) who fought in the battle.
It included readings, poetry and songs from pupils of Swaffham Prior Primary School, and was attended by descendants of some of the soldiers who fought.
