Mark Carney to the Rescue?
Former Bank of England rate-setter David Blanchflower says Bank governor Mark Carney has been forced to step in amid a political vacuum in the UK. This week Mr Carney announced measures to ease lending restrictions on banks in the hope of boosting the economy, as markets continue to worry about the economic and political fallout of Britain's decision to leave the EU.
