Why poetry inspires Serena Williams
Serena Williams says her career has been inspired by the Maya Angelou poem, 'Still I Rise', and the sports psychologist Amanda Owens says many other athletes are also inspired by poetry.
The world number one won both singles and doubles titles at Wimbledon yesterday - her 22th Grand Slam.
"I think [poetry] lends more meaning," says Amanda. "It can enable athletes, depending on their specific preference, to actually re-focus, re-set and get in the mood to perform at their best."
