Last week five police officers were killed in Dallas, Texas when a gunman opened fire at officers during a peaceful protest over fatal police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.

Reporter Paul Moss has been on patrol in Dallas with one of the force's longer-serving officers, touring one of the city's more deprived areas.

Sergeant Anthony Martin explained why he believes there has been such an outcry against the police and what needs to be done to repair the community.
