The Turkish Prime Minister, Binali Yildirim, has vowed to purge supporters of the Gulen movement, in the aftermath of the failed coup.

Anne Applebaum, the author of Iron Curtain, a book about the Sovietisation of Eastern Europe, told Ritulah Shah that the government's eradication of Gulenists reminded her of the way Stalin used to do business.
