Careers in technology: Women and diversity

What is it like to have a career in technology and how is the industry tackling the low number of women in working in the sector?

The technology sector is perceived as predominantly male, with many women feeling tech jobs are ‘not for them’. This lack of diversity will continue to be a problem until the stereotype is challenged.

The ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s Women in Tech event during London Technology Week aimed to do exactly that by inviting women with tech skills to meet team leaders and hiring managers from across the ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s Design and Engineering division.

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Academy’s Keeren Flora went along to find out about the different pathways into the industry and what is being done to encourage more women to pursue technology careers.
