The fastest man in the world to never run a mile
Former Head of Conditioning for UK Athletics, John Kiely, said that Usain Bolt completing a competitive mile would depend on ‘how well he paced himself’.
The record for running a mile is under 4 minutes but the co-founder of Letsrun.com, Robert Johnson, said there is no way Bolt would run a mile in under 5 minutes.
Kiely said: ‘It’s not really a physical thing, it’s partly physical, yes, but it’s also partly how he’d handle the discomfort and emotional distress of this wall of pain that he’s not used to hitting him’.
