Bevan: I 'battled back' from broken leg to fulfil Olympics promise

British gymnast Brinn Bevan says he "battled back" from a double leg break to fulfil the promise he made to his dying father - to compete at an Olympic Games.

Bevan broke his left tibia and fibula in November 2015 after landing on a concrete floor - an event he called a "freak accident".

He said despite the injury, he "never lost sight" of his goal to go to Rio; to "live up to [his] promise".

Great Britain's men narrowly missed out on bronze as Japan won gold in the men's gymnastics team final. Louis Smith, Max Whitlock, Kristian Thomas, Nile Wilson and Brinn Bevan finished fourth with 269.725 points.
