Emotional Anna Meares on Olympic retirement?
Australia's track cycling great Anna Meares ended her Rio Olympics campaign in tears after failing to defend the sprint gold medal she won in London 2012.
The 32-year-old confided with former track adversary Victoria Pendleton, seemingly contemplating Olympic retirement.
"I wouldn't have been as good as I was if it wasn't for Vicky," said Meares.
"I've appreciated the time you've given me since London and the messages of support you've sent. You (Victoria) know how hard this position is."
"I'm too emotional right now," replied a tearful Pendleton.
