Triathlete Alistair Brownlee secured Britain鈥檚 20th Olympic gold medal of the Rio Olympics, with his brother Jonny claiming the silver. 28-year-old Alistair, who is two years older than his brother, pulled away from his sibling halfway through the 10k run.

Coz Tantrum was their swimming coach for four years when they were teenagers, and they still keep in touch to this day. She told 5 live Breakfast鈥檚 Nicky Campbell about the pair鈥檚 close bond, and why Alistair claimed the gold ahead of his younger brother.

鈥淗e thinks more outside the box, he takes risks,鈥� she said.

Ultimately though, she believes their relationship is key to their success:

鈥淚 don鈥檛 think either of them would be as successful if they hadn鈥檛 had had each other鈥�.
