What’s it like to hear yourself called an ‘Olympic great’?
Olympic rowing gold medallists Helen Glover and Heather Stanning listened back to the 5 live commentary of their winning moment upon their return from Rio.
They were described as ‘British Olympic greats’, with Glover saying: “We don’t train for those titles, but when someone says it about us it just gets my heart.”
The duo retained their title in the women’s coxless pairs after also claiming gold in London 2012.
“I think it’s something I saw in people on TV and never considered myself being in a category anywhere close to it - and so it’s just humbling really,” added the double Olympic gold winner.
