Britain has approved a controversial $24bn nuclear power plant funded by China and France. There will also be heightened national security checks on strategic foreign investments.

Britain has approved a controversial $24bn nuclear power plant funded by China and France. There will also be increased scrutiny of the national security implications of foreign ownership of critical infrastructure. We discuss the issues with Dr Doug Parr, chief scientist for the environmental campaign group Greenpeace, and Dame Sue Ian, a nuclear expert at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London. Also, western companies are accused of taking advantage of lax rules in Africa to sell low grade fuels banned in rich nations. Stephanie Heggarty reports from Lagos in Nigeria.
