Norway's PM welcomes Facebook Vietnam photo U-turn

The prime minister of Norway has welcomed Facebook's decision to reverse its decision to block a famous image of Vietnamese victims of a napalm attack.

Erna Solberg was given the news while being interviewed by Peter Hunt on 大象传媒 Radio 4's The World Tonight programme. She said "that's very good, I'm a happy prime minister" and thanked the move for "popular support in Norway and from other countries around the world."

"It shows that using social media can make political change even in social media," she added.

She had said earlier that the social media giant's decision to block the image was "limiting freedom of speech" which would negatively impact on the teaching of history.
