Mercury Prize winner recorded album in his bedroom

Skepta's Mercury award-winning album, Konnichiwa, was recorded in his bedroom and marketed to fans directly online, without the apparatus of the modern music industry.

DJ Semtex from 大象传媒 Radio 1Xtra says the most significant aspect of Skepta's success is that it's a "do-it-yourself release".
