Pensioner who tried to stop killer 'not brave'
A Maldon pensioner, who tried to stop a man from killing his mother, says that she doesn't think she was brave.
In March, 77-year-old Margaret Anderson intervened when she saw Javid Ahmed, 26, of Fambridge Close attacking his mother, Amina Begum, 47, with a sword.
Ms Begum died as a result of 37 wounds she received.
Ahmed has been detained indefinitely in a secure hospital after admitting manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
