Head CEO: People have congratulated us for Sharapova stance
“Lots of people" have congratulated racquet manufacturer Head for its support of banned tennis player Maria Sharapova, says chief executive Johan Eliasch.
The Russian’s two-year suspension for doping was today reduced to 15 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The decision has been criticised online, but Eliasch said support for its stance far outweighed "a few negative tweets".
Eliasch admitted five-time Grand Slam winner Sharapova’s reputation had "no doubt been damaged".
