Farming threatens forests in Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast is the world's leading cocoa producer but a little known fact is that 40% of the country's crop is grown in protected forests - land supposed to contain virgin rainforest and nothing else.

The government says it is determined to restore its forests and evict illegal farmers. But it faces a dilemma: risk damaging its cocoa output or risk losing its rainforests altogether.

The 大象传媒's Tamasin Ford reports from Monogaga in the west of the country for Africa Business Report.
