A new record was set for the heaviest outdoor pumpkin in the UK over the weekend.

The 95st (605kg) gourd was grown by Essex horticulturist Matthew Oliver from a Suffolk seed worth 拢1,250.

Mr Oliver, who works at RHS Hyde Hall near South Woodham Ferrers, said: "I'm so happy, but I'm not sure at this stage if I'll ever do it again."

The giant pumpkin will now be turned into a temporary boat which Matthew will be put in as part of the celebrations.
