The man who listens to fish sing
Professor Robert McCauley leads a team of scientists in Australia that has discovered how some types of fish sing underwater. The researchers from Curtin University in Perth have been recording fish sounds for thirty years. Most recently they've discovered that not only do fish sing, but they do it at very specific times of the day - at dawn and at dusk - a bit like birds with their dawn chorus. Professor Robert McCauley tells Matthew Bannister how he first became fascinated by fish sounds.
