The island of Ilha Grande is two hours by boat from the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The inhabitants are known as the cai莽aras, or sea people, they used to live a simple life of subsistence fishing and growing food. Our reporter Gibby Zobel has been there to meet one of the oldest residents who, over the years, says he has witnessed some astonishing things land on his beach.
