Could this be the end of your Sat Nav headaches?
The Ordnance Survey is producing a definitive database for Sat Nav manufacturers which contains information on road widths, bridge heights and weight restrictions. The new detailed digital map will chart around 200,000 miles of UK road. It comes after an increase in the number of complaints over digital navigation devices failing to inform drivers about restrictions ahead.
Mark Le Page from Ordnance Survey has been leading the project and told 5 live Drive: 鈥淲e are pinning together a lot of information from different sources into one central location.鈥
The system will be introduced next month and has cost three million pounds to produce.
