Neville: Bravo better passer than Prem midfielders
Phil Neville defends Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo's style of play. The 'keeper was brought in by manager Pep Guardiola to help City pass out from defence instead of hitting it long.
Asked if City will win more than they lose with Bravo in goal, former Manchester United defender Phil Neville said: "Yes. Definitely. He plays passes into midfield that some midfield players in the Premier League can't play themselves."
Bravo was heavily criticised after being sent off in the Champions League match versus Barcelona but Neville is sure that Guardiola will insist on using the same tactics, adding: "He takes risks playing out from the back but that is what Pep will want him to continue to do. Any goalkeeper playing for him will have to take up the same positions to play out from the back."
