The rare snail who鈥檚 looking for a mate
A rare garden snail with an anticlockwise shell has been discovered in London. 鈥楯eremy鈥 is known as a 鈥榣efty鈥 as his shell moves in the opposite direction to most snails. However, he is currently struggling to find a mate because he is only compatible with snails who share his 鈥榣efty-ness.鈥
Michael Ratsey, known as the 鈥榮nail man鈥 told 5 live Drive that only 鈥1 in 50,000鈥 snails have anti-clockwise shells.
There is now a campaign underway to find Jeremy a compatible mate.
鈥淚f we get some milder, damp weather people will start looking around and who knows Jeremy might get a mate,鈥 said Michael.
