'Not even Pete knew who Pete was'
Music producer Pete Waterman has paid tribute to singer Pete Burns, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 57.
Pete Burns rose to fame as the lead singer of the band 鈥楧ead or Alive鈥, who reached number one in the UK with their best known hit 鈥榊ou Spin Me Round鈥 in 1985, produced by Waterman.
Burns had appeared on a number of reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, during which politician George Galloway described him as a 鈥渃ross between Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Parker鈥.
Waterman said this description was 鈥渂ang on鈥.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 even think Pete knew who Pete was: I don鈥檛 think he wanted to, he was always looking to do something different, he always wanted to shock,鈥 he told 5 live.
