Should Hugh Laurie be the next Bond villain?
Hugh Laurie should be the next Bond villain, according to a television producer who first worked with the House actor while Laurie was still at university.
John Lloyd currently produces QI and No Such Thing as the News. Before that, he worked on Blackadder, Spitting Image, and Not the Nine O'Clock News.
He says that whatever Hugh Laurie does, "he does properly", describing him as a "perfectionist".
After success in the UK, Laurie made his name in the US with his award-winning lead role in the medical drama House, which ran from 2004 to 2012. He's now been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Lloyd says Laurie is an actor you can "rely on" to give a good performance, who is very "modest" about his work.
He adds that Laurie would be "absolutely brilliant" as a Bond baddie.
