The late, great British violinist and conductor Sir Neville Marriner died on 2 October 2016. We are very lucky to have uncovered a recording, made earlier this year, of Sir Neville discussing his choice for River for Music: Elgar's In The South.

The recording included in Radio 3's River of Music is by the ensemble Sir Neville founded in 1958, the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields.
