India's Economy: Powering Ahead
India's Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, explains how the world's fastest growing big economy can grow faster still. Plus the big oil firms pledging to do more on renewable energy.
We hear from the man at the wheel of the world's fastest growing major economy. India's Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, provides an exclusive insight into the country's growth prospects - there's much more to come, he says.
Also on the programme, Frances Way of CDP, a global environmental disclosure platform, discusses the pledge by major oil companies to set up a fund to promote renewable energy. The chief executives of seven oil and gas companies - BP, Eni, Repsol, Saudi Aramco, Royal Dutch Shell, Statoil and Total - have pledged to join forces under the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative on the same day that the Paris Climate Agreement comes into force, requiring governments to limit their emissions. It sounds like a positive step, but is this just window-dressing by some of the world's most polluting companies?
And finally, ahead of the US election next week, the 大象传媒's Will Grant in Havana reflects on the legacy of President Barack Obama's political efforts to reconcile Washington with Cuba.
