It's 'Pole sports' - not pole dancing
The International Pole Sports Federation is seeking official recognition by the International Olympic Committee, with a view to one day competing at the Games. But what is Pole Sports? IPSF President Katie Coates tells Sportshour that, if the pole was horizontal, they'd be classed as gymnastics - but one thing they are not is exotic dancers.
