Why did working class Americans vote for Trump?
Five years ago, sociologist Arlie Hochschild travelled to Louisiana to spend time with the angry, disaffected voters who would vote Donald Trump into the White House.
She wanted to understand why their values and opinions seemed so different to her own. Her experience is charted in a new book, Strangers in Their Own Land.
Speaking to The World This Weekend's Shaun Ley, Arlie Hochschild explained why they felt left behind.
