A European Parliament group dominated by UKIP MEPs has denied claims it misspent EU funds.

An external audit said the money was misused by the Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe (ADDE) to try to help the party win seats at Westminster in the general election last year, and to help in the campaign to leave the EU.

Roger Helmer is a UKIP MEP and he told Eddie Mair that the investigation "is very close to a witch-hunt" with the European Parliamentary administration "determined to close down any Eurosceptic groups".
