Deputy mayor accuses festive tree critics of 'humbug'
The deputy mayor of Leicester, Rory Palmer has described their Christmas tree decorations as 鈥渂right, colourful and fantastic鈥 after locals branded this year's decorations as a 鈥渄isgrace鈥.
The tree had been criticised by locals on social media because of its multi-coloured lights which some said were too concentrated at the top of the tree.
The first attempt to decorate the tree was abandoned due to 鈥渉eavy tinsel鈥 but Mr Palmer said: 鈥淎 little less humbug would be welcome鈥 think most people will look at the tree and think that鈥檚 a good effort and it鈥檚 something we can be proud of.鈥
