Banks: ‘Drain the swamp’ of bad MPs
Brexit campaigner and businessman Arron Banks maps out his vision of a new political movement to challenge the status quo in Westminster and talks similarities between the two campaigns of the moment- Brexit and ‘Brexit-plus’ (referring to Donald Trump’s US presidential bid).
Arron Banks was one of the first political figures from the UK- along with UKIP’s Nigel Farage- to meet President-Elect Trump after his electoral victory.
Speaking to the Westminster Hour’s Sam Macrory, the Co-Founder of Leave.EU said he would like to ‘drain the swamp’ of professional politicians from the House of Commons and install a new system of direct democracy.
Donald Trump’s presidential victory has taught us that change will come from ‘upsetting the apple cart’, he says.
