Would you ask a driver to put down the phone?
Research from the AA suggests that a surprising number of us would do nothing if we were in the passenger seat and the driver picked up their phone. It showed that 4 out of 10 people in the passenger seat would do nothing if their driver picked up their phone.
Edmund King, President of the AA said: 鈥淪ome said they wouldn鈥檛 do anything because I don鈥檛 really care, some felt the driver was doing them a favour and didn鈥檛 want to say anything.鈥
The AA Trust today launches a hard-hitting campaign to try to change attitudes and behaviours around driver distraction and Edmund supports 5 live鈥檚 #BootThePhone 鈥 where we are asking people to ditch their phones before starting their journey.
鈥淲e鈥檝e got to change the attitude to phones, they are a menace to the road with millions of drivers with some kind of addiction to their phones,鈥 added the AA boss.
