Clara Amfo: 'My first year without my Dad, my year of grieving.'
In March 2015 Clara Amfo was in Paris, about to run the Paris half marathon, when she received a phone call to tell her that her father had died suddenly. She came straight home and was plunged into the chaos and emotional turmoil of bereavement: a turmoil that she had to hide from the millions of listeners to her new morning show on Radio 1.
Clara explores the impact of losing a parent, on herself and others. Over 24,000 children are bereaved of a parent each year in Britain, yet it's a subject we are notoriously bad at dealing with and talking about.
First broadcast in Running with Grief, Radio 1 and 1Xtra Stories, 3 April 2016.
