Labour MP Carolyn Harris has told 5 live that the government should set aside 拢10m to pay for all children鈥檚 funerals.

The MP for Swansea East spoke about the pain of losing of her eight-year-old son, Martin, and her struggle to fund his funeral as she was working as a barmaid in 1989 when he died.

She raised the issue in the House of Commons earlier this week, and said Prime Minister Theresa May asked whether families could apply for a social fund to cover costs.

鈥淎t that time, I couldn鈥檛 fill the kettle, let alone the 35 page form required to get the fund,鈥� Carolyn told us.

Ms Harris said: 鈥淚 remember thinking, don鈥檛 people know the world has come to an end? Why are they still delivering mail, why are they still delivering milk when the world has ended?鈥�

鈥淏ut it was just my world that had ended.鈥�
