Olympian Kriss Akabusi on his troubled childhood
The athlete Kriss Akabusi MBE first found fame in 1984 at the Los Angeles Olympics when he won a silver medal.
Throughout the 80's he went on win two more Olympic medals and the European championships.
But Kriss's has not always had life easy. He was brought up in care after his Nigerian parents returned to their home country and joined the army at 16.
It was in the army that his athleticism was spotted and encouraged by army sergeant Ian Mckenzie who has stayed in touch with.
Here he talks about his troubled early start and the abuse he had his brother suffered at the hands of one foster family.
