A woman describes holding the hand of a man lying injured on the ground after a lorry ploughed into a Berlin Christmas market last night.

Sarah Dobler, who was visiting the market with her boyfriend, said: 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 understand what the man on the floor was saying, he was trying to get up but his head injury was severe.鈥�

鈥淚 held his hand, and told him everything was going to be okay 鈥� it was as if we were in a horror film,鈥� she told us.

12 people are known to have died and 48 have suffered series injuries in what German authorities are calling a 鈥渟uspected terrorist attack.鈥�

Reports quoting German security sources have suggested that the driver was an asylum seeker from Afghanistan or Pakistan.
