To find success, Sharon Jones had to leave the US
Sharon Jones was an old school soul singer par excellence. The documentary filmmaker Matt Rogers followed her career from her lean days, to her storybook success, to her battle with cancer. The first time he saw her perform was about 15 years ago at a small venue in New York City. He was immediately smitten.
