The Haymarket Theatre Revival
大象传媒 Radio Leicester revealed six months ago that the Haymarket Consortium - an ambitious development group - had agreed to lead a project to renovate the much-loved building next to the Haymarket shopping centre in central Leicester. It's been a financial liability to the city council since it closed in 1997 - estimated to be costing the taxpayer 180 thousand pounds a year. But plans are progressing to see it redeveloped, and open again - as a multi-purpose TV, arts and performance centre.
Our reporter Tim Parker has been speaking to Chris Knight, the Technical and Training Director of the Haymarket Consortium and first, City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby, who's been showing a select few visitors around.
