The Gateway project took place at Crowthorne's Transport Research Laboratory.
Simon Tong, Transport Research Laboratory:
"We were able to achieve full driverless control over a conventional vehicle. This level of automation was sufficient enough that our disabled driver could hand over this vehicle to a remote operator.
"There are a couple of ways it can connect, you can use a local wifi network or a cellular connection.
