A woman who claimed she was scammed out of 拢850,000 by her former partner has told 大象传媒 5 live how he convinced her that he was an MI6 agent.

Mark Acklom has since disappeared and is currently believed to be in Spain. A European Arrest Warrant has been issued for him.

Carolyn Woods met her former partner while working in a shop and started a year-long romance with him which ended in 2012.

Speaking to Adrian Chiles, she said that she's still confused with why she believed the fraudster鈥檚 lies.

"I said to people, this is like something out of James Bond. He managed to convince me that he was an MI6 agent and that he had brain surgery."

Avon and Somerset Police says the force is working with the National Crime Agency and Crimestoppers to try and capture Mark, and he is currently one of the 10 most wanted British fugitives in Spain.
