MP reunites child with toy rabbit abandoned at House of Commons

An MP who issued a social media appeal after discovering a cuddly toy abandoned outside the House of Commons has reunited it with the little girl who lost it.

Kirsty Blackman, SNP MP for Aberdeen North, found the toy rabbit at the Carriage Gates entrance in July last year.

No one came forward to claim the rabbit for months despite a social media appeal, but after turning to Mumsnet, a user got in touch to say the toy belonged to her daughter.

She said: 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 just leave it to languish, so it lived in my handbag for a couple of days in July.鈥

鈥淚 had completely given up hope of finding the owner until the mother got in touch with me.鈥

鈥淚鈥檓 told that the little girl went quiet when she got her bunny back, and gave it a hug,鈥 she added.

The woman said her daughter and the rabbit had been 鈥渋nseparable since birth鈥.
