He's there with the greatest - Silvestre on record breaking Rooney
Wayne Rooney became Manchester United's all-time leading scorer with his 250th goal for the club in their 1-1 draw against Stoke City. The goal took Rooney one ahead of Sir Bobby Charlton's record, after playing more than 200 games fewer than the England great.
Rooney, who joined United from Everton in 2004 and scored a Champions League hat-trick on his debut against Fenerbahce, snatched the late equaliser after coming on as a substitute.
The former Manchester United defender Mikaël Silvestre played with Rooney at the club and he told Sportsworld's Lee James that he was delighted to see Rooney break the record.
