The cost of renovating Parliament
Crumbling stonework, asbestos and a hazardous heating system- just a few of the repairs facing the Palace of Westminster during its regeneration project.
MPs have now launched an inquiry into the planned renovation amid concerns that if politicians stay in the building, the work could take decades and cost billions of pounds.
John Beesley donned hard hat and high-viz jacket and took a tour of the site with the director of the Restoration and Renewal Programme, Tom Healey, to see the costs of the project and politicians' options for relocating.
