Long goal sends Southampton to Wembley
Southampton reached a first major final since 2003 with an admirable display to stun Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg at Anfield.
Nathan Redmond's first-leg strike looked like it would prove enough, but substitute Shane Long drove in on the break in injury time on Merseyside.
Liverpool had gone close in the second period, notably when Fraser Forster hooked an Emre Can effort off the line.
Daniel Sturridge twice volleyed over but Saints struck to reach Wembley.
Jurgen Klopp's side now have just one win in seven matches, though they may point to a late penalty appeal when Divock Origi went down under the challenge of Jack Stephens.
Claude Puel's side had just 27% of possession at Anfield but always looked threatening on the break and their reward is the chance to win only a second major trophy for the club at Wembley on 26 February.
