Domestic violence survivor speaks out
For years, Jo Ruddle hadn't realised she was living in an abusive relationship.
Her husband started off as controlling and undermining her self-esteem but then became physically violent.
Initially she feared being accused of over-reacting or losing her children but after getting support she finally plucked up the courage to leave him after 21 years.
She explains how she struggled to cope physically and emotionally.
