Elspeth and Sue: Picking up the pieces after cancer.
Mum reflects on her daughters brush with death. The first thing Elspeth did when her cancer treatment finished was get on the bus to Cockermouth and go for a 9 and half mile walk, and stay in a Youth Hostel. Sue her mum, had brought her daughter up to love the great outdoors, and it was this that helped the family escape from the pain of divorce and illness. Now in remission, the memories of sitting in the hospital with the sun streaming onto her closed eyes imagining being in her tent on the Lakeland fells, is still fresh in her mind.
