Ann was newly pregnant with her third child when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007. Ann had a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy treatment during her pregnancy. Twelve days after giving birth to her son Ben, she started radiotherapy and, a year later, Ann was clear of cancer. However, in 2010, Ann was told the cancer had returned and was now treatable but not curable.
