In November 2007 it was confirmed Amanda had breast, bone and liver cancer and it is not curable. The doctors can only treat it and try to give Amanda some kind of life. She had eight sessions of chemotherapy which seems to have worked for now but she lives knowing it will come back. Since finding out, Amanda married Ray and gave up her job as an HR manager, to spend lots of time campaigning for Macmillan Cancer Support.
